Frequently Asked Questions

An online auction is one that is conducted purely through the internet. Sellers list their own vehicles for a pre-determined length of time and invite buyers to place bids on them through our website. Unlike a conventional auction there is no need to physically take a vehicle to an auction site to sell it and from a buyers perspective you can source, purchase, pay for and arrange shipping of equipment all without leaving your home or office.

You can browse as much as you'd like without signing up with Munie.com. In order to bid on an auction however, you will need to have an active account with us and be a verified buyer.

For buyers that want a little extra reassurance that vehicles are what they say they are there are two things you can do. The first one is physically go and inspect the vehicle yourself, most of our sellers are more than happy to let potential buyers inspect the vehicles they are selling, after all it is in their best interest. For buyers that don’t have the expertise or where this simply isn’t possible we offer an independent vehicle inspection service run by the Freight Transport Association (FTA). For a small fee the FTA will send a fully qualified engineer to inspect the vehicle on your behalf, they will then provide you with a full inspection report detailing the overall condition of the vehicle. FTA inspections can be ordered and paid for through the Munie website for extra convenience.

Yes, we understand that some customers need official paperwork for auditing purposes to prove how they dispose of equipment and even procure used assets. Therefore we provide a full invoicing service foe vehicle listings, inspections and sales when requested. Although no vehicles are bought from Municipal Vehicle Auctions.com Ltd our paperwork will show that they were sold/bought through our service.

If you have allowed a reasonable time to elapse and you have not received payment, you should send a message to the buyer reminding them that they need to pay.

If you have been unable to contact the counterparty and no payment has been received please leave the appropriate feedback or report the user as a Non Paying Buyer through your account section.

The final course of action available is to contact us and we will investigate the issue further.

Placing a bid on an item is very quick and easy. On every auction listing will be a "bidding" section. Simply place the amount you want to bid in the box and click on Place Bid. You must bid at least the minimum bid price, which will be shown next to the bid field. With the Munie Proxy Bidding system, you can actually bid your maximum price, and let the Proxy do the bidding for you.

To provide some protection for our sellers against people wanting to make bogus or malicious bids we have a buyer verification system in place. Basically this is a one off fee to prove that the bid you wish to place is genuine. Once you have paid the fee you can place as many bids as you like on any items that you like.
